Richard Sorrenson

Richard joined the investment team at Axiome in 2022 after seventeen years as General Manager of the University of Auckland Foundation and its endowment fund. Having lived through several market cycles, he has a long experience of the ups and downs of the investment markets.

He enjoys listening to clients to find out what their aspirations are, what they have already achieved, and how a financial plan and disciplined investment process can contribute to successful outcomes.  He believes that an empathetic and ‘client-first’ approach is the only path to long-term success for everyone.

Richard has a PhD (Princeton University) in the history of science and an MSc (Auckland University) in chemistry and physics. He has lived in Devonport for over a decade and currently chairs the Auckland Observatory and Planetarium (‘Stardome’) and the Auckland Choral Society where he sings in the baritone section.
